Tessa was born with an extremely rare condition called complete congenital arhinia—she has no nose and no sense of smell. When her parents, Grainne and Nathan, first learned of her condition during a routine ultrasound, they were overwhelmed. But their love never wavered. They vowed to give Tessa the best life possible.
From birth, Tessa faced challenges. She needed a tracheotomy to breathe and cataract surgery before her first birthday. At two, she underwent a procedure to prepare for a future prosthetic nose. Despite the surgeries, her spirit has never faltered.
Though kids have cruelly nicknamed her “Voldemort,” Tessa embraces who she is. Her joy, resilience, and bright personality inspire everyone who meets her. She breathes through her mouth and lives without a sense of smell—but she laughs, loves, and lights up rooms.
Tessa’s story reminds us that true beauty isn’t about appearances—it’s about strength, joy, and embracing the things that make us different.
