60 Missing Children Rescued in Florida During ‘Operation Dragon-Eye’
In a major victory for child safety, authorities rescued 60 missing children during a two-week mission across Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties in Florida. The effort, led by the U.S. Marshals Service and backed by multiple agencies, was called Operation Dragon-Eye.
The children, aged 9 to 17, were considered “critically missing” due to risks like abuse, violence, or unsafe living conditions. What made this mission stand out was not just the recoveries, but the care that followed—each child received medical attention, mental health support, and help with safe placements.
“This wasn’t just about finding kids—it was about helping them heal,” said U.S. Marshal William Berger.
Eight people were arrested, including adults who knowingly had minors in their custody. Some cases involved more than one child.
Local law enforcement also played key roles. St. Petersburg police recovered 11 children, while Tampa’s police chief praised the strong teamwork involved.
Operation Dragon-Eye shows the power of working together—not just to rescue children, but to support them as they move toward safer, healthier lives.
