Rachel Tunstill, 32, who was serving a life sentence for the murder of her newborn daughter, Mia Kelly, has been found dead at HMP Styal in Cheshire.
Tunstill’s death is now under investigation by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman, as authorities work to determine the circumstances.
She had been convicted after a retrial in 2019 for killing her baby shortly after birth in a bathroom, a case that deeply shocked the UK.
