Detroit rapper Dank Demoss is taking legal action against Lyft after a driver allegedly told her she was “too big” to ride in his car — a comment she says was humiliating, discriminatory, and completely out of line.
The rapper, who has openly shared that she once weighed 498 pounds, says her size should never justify being denied basic services. A viral video captures her pleading with the driver, insisting she can fit — but he refuses, claiming the car couldn’t handle her weight.
“He didn’t just leave me stranded,” she said, “he made sure to shame me in the process.”
Demoss says she’s had enough of the public judgment and is now fighting back to ensure no one else is made to feel like less of a person because of their body.
“My size isn’t an invitation for disrespect,” she added.
As her story gains traction online, many are rallying behind her — calling out fatphobia and demanding accountability from both the driver and Lyft.
