Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman Honor 27 Lost Girls with Heartfelt Action, Not Just Words

When a devastating flash flood in Texas took 104 lives — including 27 young girls at summer camp — Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman responded not as celebrities, but as grieving parents.

“They were just little girls… somebody’s daughters. Just like ours,” Keith said.

The couple donated $250,000 to the Texas Disaster Relief Fund and organized a benefit concert, Rise for Texas, featuring stars like Blake Shelton and Lainey Wilson. All proceeds will help rebuild affected communities, including schools and camps.

But their most moving gesture was private: Each grieving family received a silver locket engraved with their daughter’s initials and the words:
“She was here. She mattered. She is forever.”
Inside was a handwritten note from Keith and Nicole, promising:
“We will sing for her. We will remember her. Always.”

One father said, “It wasn’t a celebrity thing. It was a mom and dad reaching out to other moms and dads.”

Keith will debut a tribute song, Hold On to Heaven, at the concert — a promise that these girls will never be forgotten.
