Last Saturday, René-Charles Angélil, son of Celine Dion and the late René Angélil, got married in an intimate vineyard ceremony. But what made the day unforgettable wasn’t just the vows — it was the moment his mother arrived.

Celine Dion, now 56 and battling Stiff-Person Syndrome, made a rare public appearance, keeping a promise she had made to her son. Dressed in a soft gray gown, she was wheeled quietly into the garden, her presence stopping the music and bringing the crowd to tears.

Though her voice has faded to a whisper, her strength spoke volumes. “Don’t cry for me,” she told her family. “Cry for the joy. This is his day.”

René-Charles met her halfway down the aisle, whispering something only she understood. She later spoke briefly, telling him, “You were born with your father’s eyes. And now, you carry both our hearts.”

When asked if she’d sing, she held his hand and softly sang two lines from “A Mother’s Prayer.” It wasn’t perfect, but it was deeply moving.
