London Sword Attack Officer Says He’s “No Hero”
Inspector Moloy Campbell, injured while facing Marcus Monzo in East London, says he doesn’t see himself as a hero despite the attack that killed 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin in April 2024.
“It was instinct. My team are the real heroes,” Campbell said.
Monzo hit a man with a van, fatally attacked Daniel, then broke into a home where Henry De Los Rios Polania protected his family until their child’s cries made Monzo stop.
Campbell was seriously injured fighting Monzo, but officers used Tasers to stop him.
Both men humbly reject the hero title.
“The real heroes are the police and NHS staff,” said De Los Rios Polania.
Monzo, 37, was found guilty of murder and awaits sentencing.
