Keanu Reeves Crashes in Pro Racing Debut—But Still Finishes Strong
Keanu Reeves made his professional auto racing debut this weekend at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway—and it didn’t go entirely as planned.
The 60-year-old “Matrix” star spun off the track about halfway through Saturday’s Toyota GR Cup race. Luckily, it was a solo crash into the grass with no injuries. Despite the mishap, Reeves recovered and crossed the finish line in 25th place out of 35 drivers.
Driving the No. 92 BRZRKR car—named after his graphic novel—Reeves avoided a first-lap pileup and even climbed to 21st at one point. He’s set to race again on Sunday.
Though new to pro racing, Keanu isn’t a stranger to the track—he won the celebrity race at the 2009 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. This weekend, he’s proving once again: whether it’s Hollywood or horsepower, he’s all in.
