A study from the University of Oxford has gained attention for its findings on women’s body types. According to research published in the International Journal of Obesity, women with more fat stored in their hips and buttocks may experience certain health advantages.
Analyzing data from over 16,000 women, the study found that those with more lower-body fat had lower cholesterol levels, healthier hormone profiles, and even showed signs of higher cognitive function.
Researchers believe this may be due to the way lower-body fat stores beneficial omega-3 fatty acids, which support brain development and overall health.
While the findings are intriguing, scientists caution that body shape is only one factor among many that contribute to overall well-being.
